Sleeping on Location in the sleeping hall

A regular sleeping hall obviously is a no-no during a pandemic. So we are bringing a new invention, that might sound crazy at first glance, but actually is pretty logical: Indoor camping. There will be a huge sleeping hall, but you may not just put up your mattress there. The hall will have constantly air flow and therefore will be rather cold. You need to bring a tent to put up, and sleep in. This will result in the aerosols you are exhaling being trapped in your tent, and whatever escapes out of it to be taken out by the air flow. Weird but effective.

So if you wish to sleep in the sleeping hall, please bring your camping gear. We will not allow anyone to sleep inside the sleeping hall without a tent!

If you can afford we highly recommend to pick a hotel room instead. For those who are low on cash we are negotiating a extremely low-cost bed in a reasonable no-frills hotel nearby. Returning visitors from Breakpoint probably know which hotel is meant. Yes, the 50ies phone system with switchboard is still there ;)

Sleeping IN A HOTEL

If you can at all afford it, we recommend booking a hotel room. Below you can find our recommended selection of Hotels. There are more, but the ones listed here we can actually recommend from long-term personal experience.

Please note: At the time of writing, hotel stays are only legal for business reasons, not for touristic reasons. We are very sure this limitation will be lifted by Easter. But should any Hotel require this, we can provide you the needed documentation for a business conference you are participating in.

PAPA RHEIN

This is a brand-new luxury spa hotel that has everything you'd expect from a great Hotel and more. Roof-top pools, a Michelin star restaurant, and obviously lots of spa activity, all directly overseeing the Rhine river.

The hotel had planned to open in mid 2020, but that was cancelled thanks due to the Pandemic. They are now going to re-open in January.

If you want your loved one who isn't interested in the demo scene to still love you after the weekend, book this Hotel.

NH HOtel Bingen am Rhein

This hotel used to have four stars, but a couple of years it has lost it's rating. The rooms are rather dated and could use a makeover. The breakfast buffet however is of amazing quality.

Still, this is a pretty good choice if you can get a good deal.

The hotel is next to the river, but also next to the train tracks and the central train station, and the noise level in the rooms is pretty bad. If you don't like train noise, either pick a room with river view, or pick another hotel.

Hotel Café Konditorei Köppel

This is a small 3-star Hotel above a Bakery. The staff is nice, and the Hotel is pretty modern and clean. The breakfast obviously is great.

RHEINHOTEL STARKENBURGER HOF

This is a discount hotel that is very dated. Take a trip back into time. The rooms are clean, and the staff is very friendly, however.

We are negotiating a special deal with this hotel, which will beat standard pricing by a lot. Please do not book this Hotel directly for now so not to ruin our negotiations.
